The Pirates Baseball team began the Wheatland Tournament this evening. Despite a great effort, the team fell to Lakeland. The Pirates will be back in action tomorrow at the Wheatland Sports Complex at 4:00 against Weaubleau. Go Pirates! #MCPirates

Good evening, Pirates! The Macks Creek School Library is participating in a classroom-level coin drive called the 'All for Books Coin Drive Challenge'. The challenge will run this Tuesday - Friday (April 11 - 14). Each day this week will represent a different type of coin: Tuesday - Pennies/Nickels Wednesday - Dimes Thursday - Quarters Friday - Anything goes! The classes are broken into two sections: PreK - 3rd classrooms will compete against each other while the 4th - 6th grades will face-off. The classroom that collects the highest overall total will receive a prize, and their teacher will receive a cash prize to be spent at the Book Fair next week! (April 17 - 21) What does your donation help with? Purchasing new books for the library and classroom libraries, easier access to books for students, and helping kids connect with more books! Also, the BOGO (Buy one, get one) Book Fair will be available next week: April 17 - 21. #MCPirates

Today's Easter Egg Hunting Event at the Macks Creek Community Park has been a tremendous success! A few hundred folks are enjoying delicious food, Easter egg hunting, raffles and more. The Macks Creek Park Board is hosting a whole-family event TODAY at the Macks Creek Community Park from 10 - 2. This "all-free" event will include Easter egg hunting, games & activities, a bounce house, as well as drawings and give aways of a variety of donated prizes. Hot dogs, chips and soda will be served. The egg hunt for ages 0 - 4 will start at 11 AM. The hunt for ages 5 - 8 will start at noon and the hunt for children ages 9 - 12 will begin at 1:00 PM. All of the eggs will be stuffed with fun prizes or candy. There will be plenty for all children - over 5,000 eggs have been donated! Families are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. Overflow parking will be available at Macks Creek School and a shuttle will be provided. We hope you and your family can attend! #MCPirates

The HS Track team competed in the Osceola Invitational this evening. Brooklyn Duggan took 3rd in the 100m hurdles and 2nd in the 300m hurdles. Addison Ratliff took 2nd in the 1600m, 4th in the 800m and 4th in the 3200m. Jose Cortez took 3rd in 110m hurdles. Caleb Phillips took 2nd in the 800m with a PR of 2:05.65 (a new school record) and 1st in the 3200m. Great racing team! #MCPirates

Congratulations to senior Logan Gallamore. Logan was recognized today at a meeting of the Ozarks Schools Superintendents in Bolivar as the recipient of a scholarship provided by the Missouri Association of Rural Education (MARE) sponsored by EdCounsel. MARE operates two scholarship programs that since 2017 have provided $173,500.00 in scholarships to students interested in becoming teachers. In 2022, the HS Senior Scholarship Program, in cooperation with EdCounsel provided thirty (30) $500.00 scholarships to graduating seniors from MARE member school districts. Logan who is considering a career in physical education, was recognized for his involvement in athletics and other extra curriculars all while maintaining a GPA above 4.2! Great job Logan! The MS Track team competed in the PCL Conference meet this evening at Skyline. Coach Treat is proud of our hard working athletes who brought home medals and many personal records! Here are the results for our 7th grade athletes: Sebastian Sanchez took 1st in the 400m (1:03.05), 2nd in the 100m (13.06), and 1st place in the 200m with a PR of 27.59! Weston Martineau took 1st in the 100m with a 13.02. Zane Brooks set a 1:13 PR in the 400 as well as a PR of 3:08 in the 800. Izzy Willey set a PR of 15.04 in the 100 and a PR of 32.69 in the 200. Taeler Osborne ran 15.78 in the 100 and set a PR of 32.72 in the 200. On the 8th grade side: Riley Barclay ran 14.7 in the 100 and took 2nd place in the triple jump. Madi Moos leaped 3.1 meters in the long jump. Preston Stephens set a PR of 29.6 in the 200. Kevin Bowman ran 13.8 in the 100m and set a PR of 29.39 in the 200. Sawyer George ran 14.2 in the 100. Calvin Eidson threw 9.4 meters in the shotput. Eli Charlton threw 27.2 in discus and 11.3 in the shot put. Great job Middle school track team! #MCPirates
