Dear Pirate Family, Macks Creek School has received notification that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. At this juncture, we do not feel this individual had many close contacts if any. Regardless, we are cooperating with the local health department to help with contact tracing, which has just begun. You will be contacted directly if you or your student is considered to be a close contact. Individual students on quarantine will continue their education in accordance with our distance learning plan. These processes were developed in accordance with our COVID-19 Reopening plan for just such an occurrence. Each time there is contact tracing connected to one of our students or staff members, some of them may be directed to quarantine at home. Our faculty and staff have been working diligently to implement our COVID-19 Reopening Plan every single day which includes thoroughly sanitizing our campus and school buses. Please note, attendance and other local health considerations are being closely monitored and could trigger a pivot to distance learning for segments or all of our district. We will continue to provide you with as much information as we are able. Our foremost priority is to keep students and staff safe, healthy, and in school as much as possible. As such, we will work closely with the local health department updating and making adjustments based upon daily conditions. The Macks Creek Pirates Baseball team continued their busy fall schedule, hosting Eugene this evening. After 5 innings, the Pirates fell to the Eagles (15 - 1). The Pirates will host the Lakeland Vikings this Thursday. #MCPirates

The results from Linn Invitational are now available. Molly Phillips finished with time of 25:27; Adriana Mayer, 27:26 and Chelsea Brown, 34:35. Like last Saturday, the Lady Pirates ran faster than they did at this same meet last year! Caleb Phillips finished with a time of 20:43, Kyler Gabriel, 21:21; Jose Cortez, 22:22 and Grant English, 22:43. Great job on a hilly and muddy course everyone! The XC teams will race again this Thursday at Willard High School. #MCPirates

The Lady Pirates recognized senior athletes Alyssa Seaholm, Bailey Taylor, Caitlin Gabriel, Courtney Knight, Emma Waters, and Mackenzie Hicks this evening at Ballparks National. Macks Creek FFA Officers traveled to Otterville Schools yesterday to participate in the Area 8 Leadership Conference. Trever Smith was recenlty elected as Area Historian and participated in the opening ceremony. In addition to various leadership development activities, the group attended presentations by a State FFA Officer and the Missouri Cattlemen's Association. #MCPirates
