Macks Creek pushed its record to 5-1 and 2-0 in the Polk County League with a convincing 71-51 win at Humansville on Thursday. The Pirates jumped out early with a 31-13 half time lead and cruised in the second half. Humansville set out to shut down our second leading scorer Zane Whitworth and they did a good job on him holding him to 4 points, but Zane's unselfish play netted him 6 assists and 8 steals for his efforts. Oscar Cortez continues to lead the State in assists per game as he added another 10 to his resume. Hunter Lane continues to dominate in the middle with 38 points and 13 rebounds and fellow teammate Cole Register turned in State leading defensive performance as he took 4 charges and added 13 points. "Our team is so unselfish and our 23.3 assists per game (which is #1 in the State) is a tribute to these boys and how they play," commented Coach Duggan.
