It was a great weekend for the Macks Creek Archery Team at Skyline High school. The team had 12 students shoot in the tournament. All of the archers were striving to beat their personal bests, and get the first tournament jitters out. The team was excited to have 2 elementary girls place in the top 3 at the tournament. Teagan Long (5th grade) took 3rd with a score of 163 points. Kamora Merchant (5th grade) took 1st with a score of 201 points. All of the students had a wonderful time. The team is coached by Ms. Jennifer Merchant, who helped start the program 5 years ago here in Macks Creek. Mr. Adam Stewart joined this year, and is looking forward to helping build the program and increase opportunities for the students in the Macks Creek area. The archers look forward to competing a few more times during this school year, and plan to have a schedule of tournaments out before Winter Break. The team would also like to thank all the parents that brought their archers out and showed support for all of the archers!
