STOUTLAND - Macks Creek traveled to Stoutland on Monday night for a tilt with the Tigers and left with a 14-4 defeat in six innings.

Stoutland plated six runs in the first, five in the second, and then one more in the third to put the game at 12-0 and look to end the night early.

The score would remain 12-0 until the top of the fifth. Olivier Sanchez lead off the inning with a walk and moved to second on Grant English's one-out-single to right. A ground ball off the bat of Ethan English was misplayed at short and allowed Sanchez to score. A walk to Trever Smith loaded the bases before Tanner Smith's ground ball to short was also misplayed, allowing Grant to score and all runners to move up a base. Austin Brown followed with an RBI-single to right to plate Ethan. Dakota Willis was hit-by-a-pitch with the bases still loaded and two outs to push across the final run, courtesy runner Jose Cortez. A ground ball off the bat of Sanchez, batting for the second time in the inning, went to short where Brown was erased at third to end the Macks Creek threat. The Pirates had been able to plate four runs and cut the lead to 12-4. Stoutland would plate two more runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game via the run rule.

"We showed a little life there in the fifth to force the game to go another inning," commented Macks Creek Coach Jason Trusty, "afterwards we talked about finding a way to get things going sooner and keeping the momentum throughout the game."

"We've still got a little bit to go before District play and we are starting to slowly put the ball in play more often, it's just going to people when we do."

Dakota Willis (0-2) took the loss. The Freshman righthander worked the first inning and was touched for six runs, two earned, on three hits while striking out one, walking one, and hitting one batter. Austin Brown worked an inning and allowed five runs, one earned, on two hits while striking out one and walking two. Tanner Smith entered in the third and worked the next three-and-a-thirds innings, allowing two runs, one earned, on four hits while striking out four and walking three. Olivier Sanchez worked one-third of an inning and allowed one run on three hits while walking two.

Offensively for the Pirates they were only able to collect four hits on the night. Grant English singled, walked, and scored, Ethan English singled, scored, and reached on errors twice, Austin Brown singled in a run and walked, and Dakota Willis singled, was hit-by-a-pitch, and had an RBI. Trever Smith reached base twice on walks, Tanner Smith reached base on an error, Hunter Harris reached on a fielder's choice, Olivier Sanchez walked and scored a run and Kyler Gabriel walked.
