Macks Creek FFA members started off their National Convention adventure with several activities.
Yesterday, on the way to Indianapolis, students toured Fair Oaks Farms. At this stop, the group gained valuable knowledge on the swine and dairy industries. They learned about various kinds of technology used in each to ensure success. They were also able to participate in the fun activities at the farm, some of which include milking a cow and the silo slide.
This morning, Macks Creek FFA started off their day touring Tuttle Orchards. This tour gave the members a deep dive into their company. They got to see first-hand the process of apple picking, grading apples, tree selection, and the apple cider production process. During the tour, members got to try different apple varieties and even try their apple cider. The orchard also had a pumpkin patch, corn maze, and other fun farm-yard activities. After leaving Tuttle Orchards, members ate their lunch at Falls Park and enjoyed a scenic hike.
Now they are off to the Convention Center in Indianapolis!
Below are many photos from the first two days of the trip:
We look foward to sharing more as our FFA members head to Indianapolis to join over 50,000 other FFA members at the National Convention!
