Westminster Dining Hall

Our Career and College Advisor, Mrs. Candy Bothwell took several seniors on a tour of Westminster College in Fulton, Missouri yesterday. This college tour, and many more, are conducted in an effort to help our students get an idea of what attending a given school might be like. Some of our students already know they would like to pursue a degree in a given field and are looking for a school that will be the best fit for them. Others, who are weighing the options of pursuing a degree, pursuing skilled training or directly entering the workforce, attend to learn more to assist in their decision-making.

During the past two years, Mrs. Bothwell has worked closely with our seniors. Thanks to her efforts, more of our graduates than ever before have pursued two and four year degrees and other training to begin careers and enter the workforce with the knowledge and skills to succeed. Thanks to Mrs. Bothwell the Class of 2024 unlocked well over $200,000 in scholarships last year. The majority of our students, many who are the first ever in their family to attend college, report they feel confident in their future after working with her to make plans.

Mrs Bothwell is excited to help the Class of 2025 as they finalize their plans for college and career this school year. Yesterday's trip to Westminster was the first tour of many. Macks Creek School is grateful to alumni Aidyn Merchant and Jose Cortez who are both studying at Westminster. The two alums took time out of their schedules to meet with our seniors and share their experience at the college. Tomorrow, many seniors will travel to State Tech in Linn and on Monday others will visit Ozark Technical College's campus in Lebanon.
