Candy Bothwell

Mrs. Candy Bothwell, Macks Creek School's College and Career Advisor was recognized this evening for going above and beyond to serve and encourage our students. Each year, at the Annual RootEd State Conference, an Advisor is selected to receive the 110% Award. Mrs. Bothwell received this honor during a banquet at the St. Charles Convention Center this evening. Dr. Jeff L. Pittman, the Chancellor of St. Louis Community College presented the award.  He shared “this award is given to an advisor who goes the extra mile everyday looking for ways to provide support and opportunities above and beyond the daily interactions for students, to make an even greater impact in their lives. She does the same for parents as well as school and community stakeholders.” He further elaborated this year’s winner:

-is the definition of a "go getter"

-continues to build relationships with local organizations and businesses, bringing new experiences and opportunities to students

-is in constant communication with families to ensure students have the necessary resources to be successful.

Congratulations Mrs. Bothwell! We are grateful for your tireless efforts these past two years to work closely with our seniors. It is because of her efforts more of our graduates than ever before have pursued two and four year degrees and other training to begin careers and enter the workforce with the knowledge and skills to succeed. Thanks to Mrs. Bothwell the Class of 2024 unlocked well over $200,000 in scholarships this year. The majority of our students, many who are the first ever in their family to attend college, report they feel confident in their future because of Mrs. Bothwell. Mrs Bothwell is excited to help the Class of 2025 as they finalize their plans for college and career this school year.

Candy had no idea she would be receiving this award. She planned to attend the conference and was enjoying her dinner when the award was presented. She was completely suprised! Thank you and Congratulations Mrs. Bothwell!
