Missouri’s Rural Electric Cooperatives collaborate every year to sponsor leadership events for students during the summer before their senior year. Trinity Husong submitted an application to the Southwest Electric Co-op to participate in one of these events earlier this spring. Trinity advanced through the application process, which included authoring an essay and participating in a formal interview, earning him a spot at this year’s Cooperative Youth Conference and Leadership Experience or CYCLE.
CYCLE is a three day leadership conference held annually in Jefferson City in late July. As shared on amec.org/cycle, the focus of this annual event, which brings together “some of the best and brightest young leaders from across Missouri” is to “show students more about electric cooperatives, teach leadership skills and experience Missouri state government.” Macks Creek School looks forward to sharing more about Trinity’s experience when he returns later this month. Well done and congratulations Trinity!
