The Lady Pirates won their second game in as many contests by holding off a late rally by the Lady Mules in a 33-25 win on Thursday. Leading 30-16 entering the fourth quarter, the Lady Pirates went cold from the field, but great defense down the stretch held Wheatland off for the final margin.
India Willis again led Mack’s Creek with 13 points, 11 rebounds and 4 steals. Brooklyn Duggan added 9 points, 7 steals and 5 assists and Emma Seaholm added 9 points with 5 boards. Ashlee Klinksick rounded out the scoring with 2 points.
The Junior High Pirates ran into a very athletic Mules team and fell 53-20. Shooting 21% from the field and committing 33 turnovers were a bad combination for the Pirates on Thursday night. Despite foul trouble, Hunter Cullen’s 8 points and Kyler Gabriel’s 5 points, 7 steals and 5 assists were the bright spots on the night.
Both teams will be back in action Monday night against Weaubleau for their first home contest beginning at 5:00.
