Nearly 200 Pirates gathered together for the Macks Creek Alumni Association's 62nd Annual Banquet on Saturday, June 29th. The banquet is always held the last Saturday in June at the First Baptist Fellowship Hall. This year the Class of 1969 received special recognition as 50-year graduates. President Darren Moulder presided over the ceremony which also honored the 10-year grads (Class of 2009), 20-year grads (Class of 1999), 25-year grads (1994), 30-year grads (1989), 40-year grads (1979), and 60-year grads (1959). School Superintendent, Dr. Josh Phillips gave the annual State of the School report. Craig Parrack recognized the Elementary Teacher of the Year, Mrs. London Humiston and the High School Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Julie Kolwyck.
Billy Creach recognized Carolyn Bowling who was inducted into the Alumni Hall of Fame. The entire group also recognized first time attendees, those traveling the greatest distance, the oldest graduate, past and present MC teachers as well as past and present school board members. Lastly, a moment of silence was held for grads who passed away this past year. This year's meal was provided by Curly Que Catering. The group wishes to thank Shelly Parrack for all of the pirate-themed decorations.
