Macks Creek faculty and staff had a busy professional development day. In addition to work on curriculum, our team practiced ALICE (Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Escape) techniques and received STOP THE BLEED® training.
STOP THE BLEED was initiated by a workgroup convened by the National Security Council Staff. The purpose is to better prepare the public to save lives by raising awareness of basic actions to stop life threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies and man-made and natural disasters. Advances made by military medicine and research in hemorrhage control during the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have contributed to these life saving techniques. Thank you MC staff for taking the time to learn these skills to help save lives and better serve our school community!
Thank you to our School Resourse Officer and the staff from Mercy Hospital for this training opportunity.
